OBJECTIVE

Graphically interpret an antique block planer based on physical appearance and characteristics of the object. Explore how the viewing angle affects the silhouette of the block planer. Unique aspects to that specific object must be effectively portrayed in the form of an icon.

Focused on simplifying the object down to its most essential characteristics. Experimented with including a wood shaving in the design to insinuate the use of the object.

Experimented with ways of using type with the icon to develop a logo for a lumber and carpentry supply shop.
The original typeface used in the final concept was HWT Lustig Elements Pro.
